As a foodie, I commonly get asked what my favourite restaurant is, which is a tough question! I’ve started counter-answering with the restaurant I go to the most… Arya Bhavan.
What is Arya Bhavan?
Arya Bhavan is a pure vegetarian South Indian restaurant with a few branches, one in Leicester Square, which is convenient albeit a little pricey and small, and others in Tooting and Wembley, which I’m very prepared to trek for the marginally higher quality and lower prices to as I have friends living near each.
What’s my usual order?
There’s an extensive menu and I like to try different things! My regular orders are Masala Dosa (see image above), a comforting savoury sourdough crepe with a potato filling and the South Indian thali, a selection of different curries served with rice, bread and something sweet (the rice and curries are unlimited so a great option if you’ve worked up an appetite.

Why is it so good?
London is full of restaurants, so why do I keep coming back? I adore South Indian cuisine, it’s got you covered if you’re after comfort food, something lighter, or a complex orchestra of spices.
It’s reasonably priced, illustrated by the aforementioned unlimited South Indian thali is £10.20 in Tooting and Wembley, £19.90 in central London.
There’s something for nearly everyone, meaning it’s a great crowd pleaser!
